Wellness Wednesday: Exercising while Expecting

The myth that you should not exercise very much while pregnant has almost been eradicted. The truth is that unless directed by a doctor it is a wonderful thing for you and your baby. A fresh flow of oxygen and blood are important for both of you.

However, just like it can be a challenge to find flattering day-to-day clothes, it can also be the same with workout clothing. As someone who has exercised consistently throughout my pregnancies, I have been able to narrow down what works and what doesn’t. Here are a few of my favorites! Keep in mind these are not maternity, they just also fit most pregnant women. Remember to size up for your growing assets when needed. Above all, keep on moving – it does your body, your baby and your stressed out brain good! xx

jog Taking a jog along the Seine River on my recent trip in Paris. I am 18 weeks here and you can see a little baby bump forming. This is one of my favorite places to jog in the world and I wasn’t going to let a little thing like being pregnant stop me. Slow me down? Yes:) But stop completely? No! Sometimes it just means walking, but other times a little jogging feels great. What is important to remember though is that if you did not jog before pregnancy this would not be the time to start.  However, if you are a runner like me, just listen to your body and do what feels right. I have found that this works for me.

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
