Wellness Wednesday: Shrug off the Stress

This week as we talk about what’s on your back we can’t ignore the actual back and today we are focused on the backs of our little loves. School, sports and carrying around books is destined to make our kiddos feel some stresses and have tight muscles. I know, I know they are young, but it doesn’t mean a little yoga won’t do them good. Yoga will benefit them both mentally and physically.

Follow this routine from our amazing fitness contributor, Cortney Taketa, so your little ones are stress free and standing tall. Plus they will have fun doing it! xx

Okay mommies, it’s almost the dreaded back-to-school.  Like all of you, I do everything in my power to ease our kids anxiety. I have armed my little ones with stylish clothes, cool backpacks and hip earth-friendly lunch boxes. I wish seeing them go was that simple. Unfortunately, my mama bear protection knows better. Soon I will have a 2nd grader and my little 5 year old twins will face the harsh reality that they have been SEPARATED from each other AND are expected to stay that way from 8:15-1:30! UGH.

Since I am a yoga teacher, I came up with a series of poses that help reduce stress, calm the body and mind and improve self -esteem. I thought all you chic mommies would love to learn my kiddo workout. Grab your matching stretchy pants and hit the mat (or towel) tonight before bedtime. Namaste.

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
