Nautical Chic Week: Wellness Wednesday

katemoss

Today for Wellness Wednesday, we bring you motivation in the way of swimsuits. Nothing like a new fab swimsuit to make you work out a little harder and think twice about what you put in your mouth.

Something about Summer forces all of us to be a little more focused on our physique. For me, this means a little less pizza, healthier desserts (can’t give them up), and just a glass of wine… Two out of three are more likely to happen.

However, being in a swimsuit after pregnancy can be a little frightening. I mean, what mommy in her right mind would buy a swimsuit the day after giving birth? Oh yeah, that would be me… Totally normal, right?? The suit was just too enticing for this delirious, shopping addicted mommy. Plus, I figured it was an excellent “get fit” MOTIVATION.

That said, I couldn’t brave trying on my chic new Missoni suit for a few months even though it arrived at the house the same day I came home from the hospital.

Clearly, I had some “things” to tone and tighten before I subjected myself to that. I wanted to take my time before jumping back into my normal routine and that lasted almost a week. I guess that is what happens with number three. You are back to everyday life and reality hits far sooner than you would want. And since this was the case, I started exercising sooner than I did with the first two. I would put my new little love in the stroller and we would cruise. It was my quite, peaceful time with my gorgeous daughter. In fact, just writing about it makes me want to go back.

Eventually I gathered up the courage to try on my motivating swimsuit… and you know what? It didn’t look as bad as I was expecting. Sure, my tummy wasn’t as flat and my hips were a little wider, but breastfeeding made my top look amazing! All in all I felt like a woman… Something that takes having children to really appreciate.

The point being, after you have children your body is different and not always in a way you appreciate. However, you should! Nothing is more beautiful than a womanly body, and all that is needed to compliment those mommy curves is confidence. There is nothing more attractive… Just ask your hubby.

So, let’s just start with picking out a fab swimsuit and go from there. And if that isn’t enough just stare at this amazing picture of Kate Moss. Talk about motivation chic. xx

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
