Foodie Friday: Peppermint Holiday Fudge

Once upon a time there were two mommies, six kids, no school and holiday gifts that needed to go out. My fabulous friend, neighbor, entrepreneur and mommy Joelle Maynard was preparing her delicious holiday fudge and she invited my crazy crew to be part of it. We shared a lot of laughs, tried to keep our rambunctious taste testers from making too big of a mess (or eating too much sugar) and finally enjoyed some delicious wine. After all, I felt it necessary to toast to the chef … especially since I really did nothing except wear a cute apron, hold my little spatula and play with Amalia. So the least I could do was share some of her amazing wine because that is what a good friend would do 😉

Have a fun filled weekend friends! And between all that “fun” remember to take some deep breaths, drink a lot of water and laugh! Because if we didn’t laugh we would all go insane… and if it is too late to save your sanity, laugh anyway because then you can be crazy and happy. xx

For the packaging:

Basic Sisal Twine
-Gift Tags (here, here & here)
Decorative Stamps
Red Berry Baskets
-Candy Canes
-Aluminum Foil

I made two types of peppermint fudge – white and milk chocolate – for each gift package.  I cut 2 1/2 inch square pieces of each, wrapped them like presents in the foil and stacked them one on top of the other in the berry basket.  Before filling the basket, I cut an eight inch piece of twine and laced it through each end of the openings in the bottom of the berry basket.  Placed the aluminum wrapped fudge and candy cane on top.  I strung the stamped gift tag through the twine and tied it in a bow on top.

So fun and yummy!

Cheers,
Joelle

Philanthropy

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
