Foodie Friday: Girls Weekend Eats with contributor Tiffany

girlsweekend

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to spend the weekend with 10 of my closest girlfriends from high school. We are all busy with kiddos, work and life, but once a year we come together to just have fun. That Cyndi Lauper really knew what she was singing about!

We laugh, we cry (yep I sure did this time) and tease each other in a way that can only be done with those you have grown up with. We reminisced about bad hair cuts, old boyfriends and fashion faux pas. We spoke of our current situations and future plans. While we all tend to have an idea of what is going on in each others’ lives, nothing beats a good face to face catch up.I had even forgotten how much I love girly sleepovers. We were so happy just hanging with each other that we only left the amazing home we rented in Palm Springs once for brunch at Norma’s at the Parker (Or twice if you count a crazy bike ride down the street to get more refreshments).

Now I must say that while the food at brunch was good (especially the crispy french toast) it still was not as good at the food that our dear friend and newest MCbJ contributor Tiffany Jaeger whipped up for all of us. We knew Tiff had always been into cooking and living a healthy life, but I think we all had an extra special appreciation for it on this trip. She spoiled us with her cooking and even led some girls in a workout that I sadly missed because I was sleeping. So needless to say I am thrilled that she will now be sharing some of these recipes with the MCbJ followers. And trust me, if following her recipes will help me to look as toned and fit as she does than I will be making them all the time.

So chic mommies your take away this Friday is: A. you need to book a weekend trip with your girlfriends and B. to whip up Tiff’s recipes. A full heart + a full tummy = happiness. xx

Here are two of our favorite meals from the weekend! Trust me, they are worth cooking at home for a large group or just for the fam.

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
