What to Wear with Your Ripped Skinnies: Date Night

Well hello Monday!! You often seem to come too fast, but today I am happy you here so my kiddos can get out some energy at camp while I continue to unpack and organize our house since we moved on Friday. To say I am exhausted might even be an understatement… moving with four little kids is no joke! Fortunately I love the neighborhood we have moved into and I have my usual homemade latte in my hand so I am ready to face this busy day/week… ok life:)!

Now on to today’s look. This top is another one I recently found online at Pixie Market and I am in love with the statement it makes and how comfortable it is. On a side note I may emphasize comfort a little too much, but it is so important to me. If it is not comfortable I am not wearing it! The days of making something work because I thought I looked hot (key word being “thought”;)) left in my early 20’s or rather when I had children and a new perspective hit that being uncomfortable just isn’t worth it. Plus I noticed that the flowy clothing that worked for pregnancy could also look chic when not pregnant… I am not talking about dumpy sweatpants or your hubbies old t-shirts FYI.

This top is a great example and the same goes with these ripped skinnies. They are from Free People and I unfortunately cannot find them online yet, but I know they are available at the store in Brentwood Los Angeles (310-451-5995) in a couple different colors. Mine are the darker denim wash and they are only $98- a steal compared to many other pairs of jeans out there.

As for my accessories they are meant to stand out since as I always point out “it is the accessories that give an outfit true style”.  As usual I have included all the links at the bottom as well as some other “Statement Sleeve Favorites”.  A top like this with dressy accessories are a sure way to make your favorite ripped skinnies the perfect “date night” (whether with the hubby or girlfriends:) look. xx Jess

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
