Tropical Fever: J’adore

It’s that time of year when we all get that itch, that itch to go somewhere… anywhere.  We just want to get out of the present/decor bomb that has exploded in our home so that we can relax (kind of), take a break (kind of) and find a way to entertain our school-less children for a week (completely).

The question becomes: where to? It could be a “staycation” at your own home (which, let’s face – it is really the furthest thing from a vacation for mom), a road trip somewhere fairly local, or it could be a magical tropical escape. I wish my plans included the latter, but alas no magical, no sunny and certainly no escaping this year. However… I am not going to let a little thing like not actually going on a beach vacation stop me from getting a head start on my resort purchases. And as I pack this imaginary suitcase in my head, I can escape for those few precious moments and that is priceless. So, regardless if you are packing for the real thing or just need a happy distraction, go ahead and throw on some steel drum music, pour yourself a Mai Tai and let these tropical must-haves take you to paradise. xx

Philanthropy

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
