Talking Trends

First I hope you all enjoyed a beautiful Mother’s Day! I loved every moment of mine and am still replaying the day in my head. I feel so incredibly blessed to be a mother to my four little loves. It is the greatest hardest thing I have every done and even in tough moments I try very hard not take the gift of motherhood for granted. Unfortunately, many family members close to me (including my own mom and my husband) have experienced loss that can make Mother’s Day a little difficult and when you know that pain… see that pain… feel that pain it becomes very clear that every moment with our dear children and loved ones truly is a blessing. Because of this I am starting my week with a renewed focus on gratitude because sadly we never know when our special (& ordinary) moments will be our last. Now I am not trying to take you to “bummer-town” right now, I just want you (me too) to remember to appreciate all the loved ones you have in your life. Maybe hug your kiddos, your hubby, your friends, your parents or whoever it is that you feel grateful to have in your life a little harder and longer next time you see them. And don’t forget to say “I love you”. Three magic words that feed the soul. A quote I often think of is “People will remember you not for what you did or what you said, but for how you made them feel”. So go make someone “feel” great about themselves:)

Since these thoughts have been weighing heavy heart and I just wanted to share them with you, but now….

On to fashion:) This week I am “Talking Trends” starting today with three things that are super hot right now: off the shoulders tops/dresses, bell bottom jeans and fringe. Most of these have been on trend for a while now (especially fringe), but they are not going anywhere any time soon so have some fun them.

The off the shoulder top is one that is flattering on every body top and to me there is something about it that says “vacation” which I can never resist (See here and here for more of my picks from previous posts). The fringe booties are also ones that I have a featured on the site before, but they really are one of my favorites because they are comfortable (really!), go with almost everything and are well priced. Last, let’s talk about these Rag & Bone jeans. Right now you will be seeing a lot of cut off bell bottom and culotte jeans. While the skinny jean is still a great option too, I am enjoying mixing up the shape. I also love these jeans because they are not too low. There is nothing worse than running around with kids and feeling your BC is showing every time you bend over to pick something or someone up. And speaking of kiddos I couldn’t resist including my girlies in some of these trends. Everything fashion is always cuter when it’s mini:) Have a great week everyone!! And check back for more spring/summer trend picks. xx Jess

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
