Sunday in Paris

Yesterday was one of those days that I will forever hold in my heart and memory. My husband and I got such joy out of watching our first baby take in every new experience – from going to church at Notre Dame Cathedral to ice skating at Hotel de Ville to a visit to the top of the Eiffel Tower where we ended up ice skating, yet again, since Jay simply “had to.” We finished this magical day with “drinks” in the hotel lobby at Le Meurice where Jay built us an olive tower while we listened to the piano player.

As my husband and I went to bed that night (Jay already in a deep, exhausted sleep) we reminisced about the day and the joy we got from watching our 7 year old grow as a person in both knowledge and confidence. We both teared up in appreciation for this special time where all he wants is to be with us and his world is still so simple and joyous. Time is fleeting, but we will always have this memory.

Loving watching my guys walk and talk along St. Germain.

Brunch & an Eiffel Tower drawing contest at Cafe de Flore.

Top of the Eiffel Tower where it was freezing & windy, but still gorgeous. Jay was a little scared of the height, but once we found ice skating on the 1st level all fears were gone.

Those are people, not ants below this glass floor on the Eiffel Tower.

Capping off our amazing day with a Shirley Temple at Le Meurice with his new souvenir teddy bear creatively named “Paris.” Not sure how he came up with that one. 😉

Philanthropy

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
