MCbJ: When did you start Noble Carriage and what was your inspiration behind the line?

JH: I started Noble Carriage in October after being exposed to the harmful effects the fashion industry was having on the world. I love fashion, but I had no idea the clothing I was buying was harming humans and the planet. I believe most people are like I was and don’t know the facts, but I also believe if parents were given the facts, they would choose to buy mostly organic clothing, even if it was more expensive. This is why I started Noble Carriage. I started Noble Carriage so parents would have a one-stop-shop for healthy baby clothing.

MCbJ: Why is organic so important to you?

JH: I touched on this a bit above, but most clothing, even if labeled “all natural” are filled with toxic chemicals that are harmful to your growing baby. These chemicals are also destroying the environment and are fatal to cotton farmers. By simply switching most clothing to organic, moms are limiting their baby’s exposure to chemicals. The more people who buy organic, the
higher likelihood we have for organic becoming the standard and not just a specialty.

MCbJ: I notice you carry few lines that are new to us. How did you find these adorable brands?

JH: Well first off, thank you! I do a ton of research online to find brands that are not only super cute, but are good for your baby and the planet. I take great pride in this part of my job. I do attend children trade shows from LA to NY a couple times a year, but I’ve found most of the brands I carry online. I believe good design is an essential as we work towards 100% sustainability. The brands I carry are paving our way to a healthier future.

MCbJ: Anything new in the works we should know about?

JH: We live in a very exciting time, the world of sustainable fashion is actually growing way faster than the organic food movement. This constant growth requires Noble Carriage to be learning and growing on a daily basis. Long story short, we are constantly testing new features and collaborating with U.S.A. made brands for exclusive pieces – jump on board so you don’t miss out!

MCbJ: How would you describe your own personal style?

JH: To be honest, I’ve never associated myself with a particular style. I’ve always loved combining lots of different types and eras of clothing. As a maker, I’m obviously attracted to one-of-a-kind custom pieces and am lucky to own quite a few and to have created quite a few. My closet is also filled with vintage pieces from the 1920’s through the 80’s. I’m also a sucker for the theatrical, so I own some really crazy stuff that belong more on a stage than on me. It’s this sort of mix that you’ll find me wearing everyday and defines my look.

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
