Pregnancy Style Tour 4.0: Weeks 21-22

Getting bigger by the day I have one major area of focus when it comes to styling the bump and that would be comfort. This is something that is always a priority for me, but there are certain clothing items and shoes(especially) that are more comfortable than others. And when it comes to this is there anything more comfortable than a maxi dress or elastic waist shorts? Not by my book. Ok, maybe pj’s or your birthday suit, but other than that, no. Pregnant or not, these are the items I love. And since everything here is not actually maternity wear this is for you non pregger ladies as well. So as we head into summer just remember this: it is possible to have max comfort without sacrificing the chic. The looks below are just a few examples of how to do this. xx

Look 1 – Birthday Party

There are several brands that have been my “go-tos” this pregnancy and Free People is one of them. The bohemian style has so many loose fitting options it makes it easy to find something to love.

This particular maxi dress can work for day or night. Here I am wearing it to a birthday dinner in West Hollywood where I dressed it up with accessories and evening make up. The pendant necklace is also by Free People and is not intended to be wrapped twice, but when I put it on I realized it fell in an awkward place on my baby bump and looked better as you see it. Plus, this season both chokers and layered necklaces are in so I was keeping the trend.

Look 2 – Lunch at The Huntley Hotel

This was my baseball game straight to lunch at the Huntley Hotel look. Again, I am in a maxi dress for this hot California day, and it was the colors that really drew me to this one. Something about turquoise just makes me happy. And so does this “little light of mine” who just can’t get enough of my baby belly. It really is just the cutest thing ever!

Look 3 – Monday

These shorts are another fabulous piece from Xpecting Boutique in Costa Mesa. I couldn’t say no to the print or the price. They are by Tyche and only available in certain boutiques like Xpecting. If you are looking for something similar online, here are some other great options.

And in case you didn’t already know, Melissa doesn’t just make adorable jelly flats for the girls, but for women as well. They are wonderful for a busy day on your feet or time spent at the pool/beach.

Finally, let’s talk two summer must haves: a straw hat & sunnies. Scala has been a fave for a couple years now, while Karen Walker sunnies are a newer wardrobe addition.

Philanthropy

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
