Maternity Chic: My Shoot with Lori Dorman Photography

Well, it has taken over 3 months to share these photos, but my whole life is one big game of “catch up” at the moment… Or who knows, maybe it will be forever. 😉 I am happily adjusting to life with four and while it is slightly more chaotic, it is true what “they” say –  the adjustment from two to three is more difficult than three to four. With three children we were already used to the craziness so adding a fourth did not shake things up very much. Plus, my two year old girl is sooo good and gentle making it a little easier to have a newborn than when she was born and my little “Tom Bomb” two-years old.

So that being said I am having a little trouble getting everything done that I need and want to do. The lateness of these photos reflect my current motto of taking life just one day at a time. And today is the day, on Amalia’s, two month birthday that I am sharing my maternity shoot with the amazing Lori Dorman Photography. Not only am I so pleased with the outcome I also had a pretty good time shooting with my kiddos. And as any mom knows that is a very rare thing!! Lori allowed us to be playful and capture us in real moments producing my favorite types of photos. Plus, the kids enjoy the shoot more. Thank you, Lori for your beautiful work!! xx

PS- This is the only time I have done maternity photos and I decided to really go for it and embrace my pregnant body. I was surprised by how comfortable and beautiful I felt. For the first time ever I really wanted to celebrate my body and its ability to create life. I even took nude photos (not included here) something I have never done nor do I plan to ever do again. But it was liberating and your know what? I was actually proud of myself for being so comfortable and happy in my own skin. If only we could feel that way at all times, where we see beauty and not flaws. For me it was this moment because my focus was not on me looking “hot,” but rather on the miracle of life inside me.

PSS (taking you back to high school??) – All the links to my shoot looks are at the bottom of the photos. Happy Hump Day, but more like Bump Day. 🙂

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
