Gratitude Chic with Kathryn Miller

thankful

Today as we continue our week of gratitude, Kathryn inspires us to live life to the fullest. A woman that appreciates beauty in her life, whether creating it in other peoples’ homes or seeking those memorable moments with her family, Kathryn is one to practice what she preaches. xx

….being thankful, it’s as simple as that. MCbJ is honoring the month of thanks – and as we all approach the end of another calendar year (yikes, how does that happen?!?) we are reflecting on things we are thankful for.

Plain and simple: I am thankful for life. To be able to dream, grow, breathe, see, love, laugh, hear, smile, cry, walk, feel a touch and feel emotions. To be alive. It is a gift we are lucky to be given everyday.

Years back, sitting at my desk in Dallas with my boss (who was 60 at the time), I told her a funny thing I had just read: “I hate when people say life is short. What the hell? It’s literally the longest thing you’ll ever do.” But she did not think it was that funny. She turned back to her computer and responded, “only a young person would have written that.” Now, as a mom of two, I watch our years pass by at lightning speed and…I get it. Life is short.  It flies by.  It can be taken away from you in a moment and it’s so precious. So make an effort to have fun, be kind, smile as much as you can, and let go of bad things that don’t make you better (but also be willing to adjust yourself if you’re responsible for your own or others unhappiness… just don’t forget check your own self and adjust where needed).

I could list every single person and every single thing that I’m grateful for but without life I wouldn’t have any of that. Thank you for those in my life that make this journey fun and full of laughter.

Happy Thanksgiving, friends!

with love,

Kathryn

Philanthropy

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
