Goodbye 2014: My Ranch Look

ranch

My family and I will be ringing in the New Year in cozy fashion. Opting out of a fancy night out, we have decided to spend this week at our family’s avocado ranch just outside of Los Angeles. Easy to get here and breathtakingly beautiful, it is the ideal place to relax and appreciate all the beauty in our lives.

This time of year it is usually chilly, but it is even more so this year and I love it! This means bundling up by a fire and layers of warm clothes. In Southern California this does not happen much, so it is fun when it does! So, when it comes to packing for a week at the ranch it is all about cozy chic.

Last week I had to make a trip to the Nordstrom in Santa Monica to (hopefully) get some new Hunter boots for walking around the ranch. Lucky me they had just received a new shipment of the high gloss black boots- exactly what I wanted. Plus, as I was checking out with my boots, I noticed in Brass Plum (the juniors section) a cute beanie and scarf. That also lead to the purchase a cozy black & white flannel. Not only were they perfect for the ranch, but also so well priced! Can’t beat juniors pricing (you can shop this look below).  🙂

So now that I was set with my “ranch look” all I needed to do was pack for me… And 3 other little people and the dog (thank goodness my hubby packs for himself!). It is always so much work getting out of the house but once we reached our destination I realized it was all worth it. Hmm sounds like a life lesson. xx

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
