Fave 5 Friday

I was recently cruising the Gap online for Halloween pjs when I lost my focus and began looking at all the other cute items available right now. While it was a little challenging to narrow it down to just five I was able to do it, but had to stick with just the girls. For those of you with only boys I will do my boy picks next Friday.

And I hope everyone enjoys a fun Fall weekend. As usual mine will be filled with soccer and football, but on Saturday I am also co-hosting a baby shower in Malibu for a dear friend and then going to a whiskey-tasting event in the evening. This is a big day for me as I have been keeping it pretty low key since the arrival of Amalia. It is HARD to be social and have a newborn plus 3 other kids! Sooo I am not sure how I will be feeling on Sunday… especially since I don’t even drink whiskey.:). Hopefully we still make it to church which is not always easy with all the kiddos and feeling extra “tired”. However, if we can muster the energy the effort is always worth it since I (we) leave feeling better… even amongst the chaos that is bound to ensue.

Chaos is something I am used to these days and do not ever expect things to go 100% to my plan. I have found that much of life with kids has to do with expectations. And while I want to hold my kids to high standards, I also have to be realistic. It is a balance sometimes hard to find and there are times I find myself losing my patience. It is then I have to take a deep breath and focus on love. This doesn’t always happen right away, but I try to center myself and eventually I can find peace in this thought. Because however imperfect and busy a day can be if we can all hug each other at the end of it and say, “I love you” then in my mind we won that day. LOVE WINS ALWAYS. xx

Philanthropy

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
