Celebrating the Big 3-5

Recently I celebrated the big 3-5 and for those of you that follow me on Instagram I made it pretty clear I was very excited about it. Yes, I am getting older and, yes, I have a few more wrinkles amongst other “getting older things”, but rather than focusing too much on those superficial things I look at what I do have. The obvious are my wonderful (sometimes crazy difficult) kiddos, my loving hubby who doubles as my best friend (when we don’t want to kill each other 😜), a job I love (that leaves me exhausted yet fulfilled) and amazing people (friends, family and colleagues) that my heart happy. A bit less obvious are the physical and spiritual aspects of life. I am so grateful for my health and faith; for a strong mind and body that allow me to experience all the good (while tackling the bad) that life has to offer.

And speaking of good… The celebratory night that my hubby planned for me at The Little Door in West Hollywood left me feeling giddy and blessed.

So when deciding on a dress I wanted something special, but fun. It also had to be on online find as I knew I would have zero time for dress shopping. So I went to my “go to” sites  Shop Bop, Net-a-porter and Intermix. These are three of my favorite sites for event dresses because of the gorgeous possibilities that arrive with in a couple days. And with free shipping/returns there is nothing to lose!. I happened to love quite a few of the dresses I ordered, but could only keep one. That one happened to be this light blue, abstract silk number by TY-LR (as seen below). The only thing I changed from the original version was the length. Ordinarily it is a lenght I would love, but I decided to shorted it a couple inches since a night out in WeHo (West Hollywood) called for something a touch sexy.

I am a sharing a glimpse of my festive night filled with all the love, laughs and champagne my little heart could have asked for. Thanks hubby for making it all happen! And thank you friends for showing this nursing, up at through out the night mom that she can still have a good time… even at 35 (wink wink)… I plan to be saying the same at 45, 55, 65… you get the point! Life must be enjoyed no matter the number on your driver’s license. And when you have wonderful people to enjoy it with it becomes easy to do! xx

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
