Super Mommy Essentials to Keep in the Car

If you are anything like me, your car is your other residence! Between toting around the kiddos, meeting a client or heading out for some adult fun I log some serious car time. Since this is the case there are some items I always have in my car to make life easier for myself and the kiddos. First up, Mommy Essentials.

Hand cream is number one for me. As moms, don’t you feel like your are constantly scrubbing away nasty germs in fear of yet again catching a cold?? Problem with this is it really dries out my hands. So, having a hand cream easily accessible at all times is a MCbJ must have. Below is one of my favorite brands for cream, L’Occitane.

In addition to keeping a hand cream in my center console I always have my Bling Wipes, hair ties and lip gloss. Bling Wipes are my new favorite thing! How many times have you been in your car when you look down at your ring and thought to yourself, ugh I wish I would have remembered to clean my ring! Then you remember that it was hard enough just getting out of the house with dry hair and make up on, let alone with polished jewelry. But, not anymore thanks to this fabulous little invention, our jewels can shine all the time. Throw some in your car, in your purse, in your diaper bag and voilà insta bling!

Hair ties are an obvious necessity and one to always have in the car. Plus, I am loving all the stylish and better for your hair options these days. They even sell ties like this by Goody that you can pick up at your local grocery store. Love when looking chic is that easy! Lip gloss… well, there are a million great ones out there. I like to keep one in my car that has just a little bit of a tint and is also moisturizing. Looking for one with sunscreen is always a good idea too. Lastly, when it comes to myself I always try to keep something I can snack on in the car, like these Kind Bars. Low blood sugar isn’t a good look on a busy mom. A little snack can prevent a snap… that goes for mom and child.

Now on to the Kiddo Essentials. Since I have three in various ages, I keep quite a bit of things, but most of them cater to my youngest. Since it seems to go the smaller they are the more stuff the need. So diapers are a must, as well as wipes. I also keep in the car disposable bibs and table toppers. This way when we dare to go out to dinner with all three these things are already here and that makes for one less thing to shove in my bag. I also like to keep a change of clothes for my 3 year old and 1 year old. You never know when or where an accident or exploding diaper is going to happen… be prepared! I also like to have at least one book in the car for entertainment purposes. Yes, iPads, DVD players and my phone can serve as entertainment, but something about them looking at a book sometimes makes me feel better as a mom… or at the very least knowing it is an option is comforting.  🙂   Add to this basket of supplies tissue, a children’s first aid kit and sunscreen. A boo boo can occur at any moment. So can an intense sun if you live in a climate like Southern California. Lastly, I keep snacks in the car for the kiddos. Like I said before low blood sugar isn’t a good look on anyone.

These little tips and tricks are all about making life a little easier, so I hope it will yours. Every super mommy needs this… it is essential! xx

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
