1. Tell us about Hatched Baby.
Hatched Baby is an online lifestyle boutique. It’s a place of inspiration for modern families. Whether to find a realistic DIY, a quick recipe or a hip outfit for your little one; we offer it all in one place. Our customers are everything to us. They are strong, smart, fashionable moms (and dads) who come to us for our specially curated items and personal customer service.
2. What was your inspiration?
A little smushy girl named Avery Rose…our daughter. 🙂 I wanted to start something that I would shop at for Avery. I came from Anthropologie and was wishing there was something like that for babies and toddlers. Something unique, artistic and high quality. The brands are out there, but I would have to go to 5 different places to find what I wanted for Avery. Hatched offers those brands, online convenience, fast shipping (free over $75) and personal care.
3. What are some of the brands you carry that we MUST know about?
I love finding brands that our customers may not know about but that will soon be their favorite. For babies, Paige Lauren and AXL are some you will love. Highest quality, great designs, super soft and perfect gifts. For toddlers and bigger kids, I love Egg, Prefresh and Brown Sugar Beach. They are stylish in different ways but so unique and again, great quality.

4. This week we are talking all about patterns and seeing as you carry a lot of chic patterned baby/kids clothes tell us some of your favorites for Fall.
I love prints! My favorite prints in general are ethnic inspired prints. They are sophisticated and special. This Egg one reminds me of a piece you would find in India. The fabric and color are just spot on and it’s great for Thanksgiving and nicer occasions. For fall specifically, I love plaid. It’s so versatile and makes print mixing a breeze. This Egg flannel is so cozy and looks great buttoned up or over a tee like this Prefresh one.
5. You recently became mommy to a sweet baby girl. Has it been difficult to juggle work and mommy hood?
Yes. I think being a working mom has so many challenges. For me, it’s the struggle of feeling like you’re not doing either one 100%. I’ve heard that feeling never really goes away but you just get more used to it. I am not there yet. 6. Any tips for new moms in the same boat?
Oh man… do they have tips for me? 🙂 I definitely have not mastered this but I think what I have learned is take care of yourself. Be good to yourself. Give yourself a break. I have found that when you are starving, needing to pee, answering emails while washing bottles- you are no good to anyone. Allow yourself that shower and cup of coffee because you’ll be better at both your jobs for it.
7. What do you love most about being a mom?
Sharing in her joy and curiosity of life. Watching her develop into a little person that is all her own is the most rewarding, heart- swelling and humbling experience.
8. What are your mom fashion essentials? Go to brands?
Some good jeans (I love Paige and AG), some great tees (try Chaser or Free People), boots (I would recommend Matisse or Freebird) and lots of fun accessories.
9. What are you most excited about for Fall?
Besides eating a lot?…boots.
At Hatched Baby, their mission is to provide the highest quality products that reflect the artful, whimsical and inspiring nature of childhood. Jen and her husband Dave believe in personal touch, extraordinary customer service, and convenience to busy parents.
