GOODBYE 2014: WHAT A YEAR!

This year was filled with family, fun, fashion, travel, work and change. It was perhaps the busiest year of my life, but also one of the most rewarding. It was not without its challenges but I obviously was not taking pictures of those moments.

While it was hard to narrow it down to just my top 11 moments, I used what else, but Instagram to help me.  So here as seen through my Instagram are my 11 favorite moments of 2014 (please excuse the photo quality):

1. Spending my birthday in Rio de Janeiro with my sweet hubby last January before heading to avocado farm country.

2. Launching the MOMMY CHIC by Jessica blog site in February.

** Keep in mind that these are only my happy highlights. Nobody has a perfect life and in today’s world of social media images I feel it is very important to note that. **

Wow! Deep breath I didn’t even realize how busy this year has been until I wrote it down. And as I look back on this year, I: a) understand why I have felt a little crazy and exhausted, and b) more than anything I am grateful.

It as been a year filled with special memories and life lessons that I will cherish my whole life. It has also been challenging due to our move and the launch of MOMMY CHIC by Jessica. Both were a leap into the unknown, and as we all know the unknown can be a scary, anxiety-inducing place. I have spent many nights worried if we made the correct decision to move and whether I have what it takes to make MCbJ a success. To the first, I know we absolutely made the correct decision, and to the second I am still working on it. I am doing my best to be happy with how far MCbJ has come and am hopeful for where it will go in the next year. I am also looking forward to more styling and image consultations with my wonderful clients. I love making people look and feel good. It truly is so rewarding.

On a broader level I hope this is what MCbJ does for its followers and it is not just all about wearing the right clothes as true beauty comes from within. This comes from a place of feeling smart, healthy and loved. This is what brings true
confidence and also a beauty that cannot be bought. So as we head into 2015, lets all think of resolutions that will help us achieve those genuine confidence boosters. Whether it is committing to your fitness, joining a book club or
volunteering for those in need, lets think beyond just fashion. And then once you have done that, then lets think fashion and style because looking fabulous can definitely make you feel good too. 🙂

So as we all say goodbye to 2014, may we hold tight to our precious moments and life lessons so that they may comfort and guide us in the future. A NEW year is ahead of us and we can make what we want of it! Don’t let your 2015
ambitions become your 2016 ambitions.  Whatever they may be write them down, tell your friends, your family, your mailman… whatever you need to do just put them out in the universe. If you don’t put that thing you want to
accomplish out there then it never can truly happen. If you are scared, that’s okay. I am “scared” all the time. Scared of failing my family, my friends, my business, myself… It is scary to go after your goals. However, let that fear drive
you not deter you.  Soon enough that certain fear will be of the past and you will hopefully have a new one. I say hopefully because this means you are continually growing and challenging yourself and as you do that thing that was scary is not
so anymore. Believe in yourself, put yourself out there and dive head first into a NEW year. So lets say a gracious goodbye to 2014, and an exuberant hello to 2015!! We are ready and excited for you!! xx

Philanthropy

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
