Black & White and CHIC all over

Okay, I apologize in advance because I look so serious in all these photos, but to be honest unless I am shooting with my kiddos, a friend or hubby I feel rather silly smiling- wouldn’t you? Besides it really is all about “the look” anyway and today’s OOTD (outfit of the day) is one so classic it works for anyone. And by anyone I mean any age and any body type.

This dress is by MLM a brand I fell for last year when I first wore a black dress by them. I love the relaxed and chic silouhettes of their dresses and tops. This dress is one you could pair with just about any shoe dependent on the season and occasion. For this look I went with over the knee black boots because we all have fall on our minds. These boots are a pair I purchased from Barney’s by Jean-Michel Cazabat a couple years back, but they are still a “go-to” and with their “chunky heel” they are right on trend for the season. Finally, I finished the look with a clutch by Maje that too is no longer available, but I found one by them that is even 50% off. Oh and I forgot to mention that even though this is a new dress it too is already on sale! So don’t miss the chance to scoop it up! And for my pregnant friends this dress would also be perfect for you either with bare legs or with leggings/tights.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! I know many of you have sent your kiddos back to school and this is always bittersweet. My older kids do not start until next week so I am taking this last week to have “an adventure a day”. It means it is hard to get any work done (I barely squeaked out this post) and I often find myself frustrated that I cannot be “better” at blogging & running my clothing company.  It is then I remind myself that when I look back at my life it will be this precious time with them (when they still loved to spend time with me) that I will cherish the most. Besides one day (that will come all too soon) I will have all the time in the world for my company, but right now I have four precious little being that are my number one priority so taking my company to the level of success that I envision will just have to wait. xx Jess

PS- next time I have a break down about my company not growing fast enough, can someone please remind me to read what I just wrote… yep it is easy to loose perspective and gentle reminders are always appreciated:)

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
