Cure Batten Disease

Last Thursday we attended a fundraiser to help save the lives of the two adorable Gray girls – Charlotte (4 yrs old) & Gwenyth (2 yrs old). Both girls have a rare brain degenerative disease called Batten disease. It is absolutely tragic and horrible.

THIS IS EVERY MOM’S ABSOLUTE WORST NIGHTMARE! It is almost incomprehensible to think of just one of your children going through this, but then to find out they both have this deadly disease… well… there are just no words.

The only HOPE for this family, for these girls is to raise enough money to get them the treatments that have only been done in animals thus far. The doctors do believe they can successfully treat the disease though. However, it is such a rare disease that government funding is low. When it comes to disease research and progress government funding is allocated based on the popularity of the disease, and this one is rare.

This is where we come in. If you can spare any amount please contribute to http://curebatten.org.  The only HOPE for these girls to live beyond age 12 is to raise the money needed to fund treatments. As a mom, as a dad, as a grandparent, as a sibling and as a friend let’s rally for these girls by donating and spreading the word.

Philanthropy

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
