Pregnancy Style Tour 4.0: Mother’s Day Weekend

This past weekend was filled with fun, relaxation, good food and gifts… what more can a mom ask for?? 🙂 My parents came up to L.A. for the weekend so that my mom and I could have some quality time with each other. Saturday night the hubbies treated us to a deliciously, festive dinner at Cecconis in West Hollywood. This restaurant is always a good time- great atmosphere and tasty food.

The next day we all woke up bright and early by three cute little alarm clocks and we did some present opening while we enjoyed a casual breakfast that included most importantly homemade lattes! A highlight for me is always the cards/presents that the kids make in school. They usually make me cry and this year the tears came even easier than usual since I become quite emotional during pregnancy. Following breakfast the ladies and the dogs went for nice little walk while the boys stayed back. This made for a rather peaceful walk…which lead to an even more peaceful afternoon as my mom and left everyone behind for a little spa time. What a treat to be just the two of us for a few hours. This is something that rarely every happens since our time together is usually spent with the kids or in a group. I cherished this time with my mom.

My mommacita (as I like to call her) is a role model and inspiration. She taught me what it means to love unconditionally and selflessly through her actions, not words. She always made my brother and I a priority and we always felt loved (even though it took growing older to fully realize the extent of her gift). My mom has been through a lot. About 5 1/2 years ago she lost her only son, my brother. Needless to say, Mother’s Day has never been quite the same since then. However, there is still joy among the sadness. And as time goes by no one misses him any less, but the pain does lessen a bit making each reminding occasion just a little more celebratory. This Mother’s Day was among the happiest yet. For that I am grateful. I will always hold dear the special time with my beautiful mom (and of course, my kiddos & the dads). I hope you too, enjoyed your precious moments with the ones you love. There is no greater gift in the world than a mother’s love, and I want to say thank you to all the wonderful moms that make this world a better place!! xx

Because it is always chic to give.  As moms we are always giving and most of the time it is not even appreciated until our children are much older (let's hope!) So it may seem challenging to give to anyone else, but we should all try no matter how little the amount or the time. Thinking outside of ourselves is good for our hearts and those of our children.
